I am a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician and inventor of the AIROD_­­^®. I’ve travelled throughout the USA as a locum tenens physician for over 10 years caring for the critically ill. COVID-19 pandemic kept me extremely busy: performing many intubations, managing patients, teaching as well as publishing. I am happy living the locums life because it allows me the time to focus on patient care while providing me with autonomy, mastery and purpose.

I invented the AIROD­^® to help myself and other providers improve our success and speed at endotracheal intubation. Primary outcome of first-attempt intubation success in critically ill patients intubated in the ICU with the AIROD^®­ was 97%. Average intubation time 15 seconds. Bend the AIROD^® into any configuration for use with any laryngoscope be it DL or VL. Only bougie that can be used with a hyper-angulated blade such as the Glidescope. Unlike the plastic bougie, the AIROD^® can lift the epiglottis improving vocal cord exposure. Telescopes from one foot when closed to two feet when opened. Optimal for storage; does no deform like traditional bougies.
